Hunt Institute for Botanical Documentation

International Series

The Institute established the International Exhibition of Botanical Art & Illustration series in 1964 with the hope of supporting and encouraging contemporary botanical artists from around the world. Collectively, the International series catalogues are the most comprehensive record available of contemporary botanical artists and illustrators with individuals represented now totaling 1,212. The International series catalogues are available as PDFs for the out-of-print editions and as the Catalogue of the International Exhibition of Botanical Art & Illustration database. For a description of and information about ordering the in-print catalogue, see the International series catalogues page.

Requesting updated information for International series artists

As we reflect on 60 years of exhibiting the best contemporary botanical artists, we are reaching out to those artists who have been included in the International series with the hope of updating our databases and records ahead of the 17th International in 2024. If you have been included in an International exhibition, please send us your updated contact information, biographical information or résumé and portrait.
