3rd International Exhibition of Botanical Art & Illustration
13 November 1972 – 30 March 1973
Devoted to contemporary botanical paintings and prints and featuring works of art acquired by Hunt Institute since its 2nd International in 1968, this exhibition featured 377 works by 181 artists from 29 countries. It included both drawings by specialized botanical illustrators and works by such outstanding figures in the art world as Leonard Baskin and Lowell Nesbitt. A catalogue with biographical data, portraits of the artists and reproductions of the artworks accompanied the exhibition.
The preview reception was Sunday, 12 November, followed by a dinner for the International artists at the Pittsburgh Golf Club.
