Updating and expanding upon the information published in the Biographical Dictionary of Botanists Represented in the Hunt Institute Portrait Collection (1972), part 1 included over 650 group portraits indexed by the name of each known individual in the portraits. Parts 2 and 3 included detailed information on persons whose surnames began with the letters A–H who are represented in the portrait collections and included places and years of birth and death, as well as their professions and/or botanical or biological specialties. (The Hunt Institute information from this catalogue has been updated and included in the Register of Botanical Biography and Iconography database.)
