B-P-H: Botanico-Periodicum-Huntianum (1968) was a worldwide bibliography of periodicals published between 1665 and 1966 that included any botanical content and covered more than 12,000 titles published in more than 45 languages. It provided recommended title abbreviations, cross-references from other published abbreviations and complete titles, details of volumation and duration, and other basic bibliographic data for each periodical.

A supplement to and partial revision of B-P-H (1968), B-P-H/S: Botanico-Periodicum-Huntianum/Supplementum (1991) contained over 25,000 title entries arranged alphabetically by title and was designed as a key to entries in both volumes. It featured citation abbreviations for all titles, improved cross-referencing and an expanded thesaurus of title words and their abbreviation equivalents. The supplement included periodicals dealing with biotechnology, molecular biology, environmental studies and conservation.

BPH-2, a second edition of Botanico-Periodicum-Huntianum (1968), was an alphabetical title list of periodicals with botanical content. Spanning 1665 to 2002, BPH-2 included more than 33,000 titles from around the world in agriculture, agronomy, bacteriology, biology, biotechnology, botanical bibliography and history, conservation, ecology, environmental science, floriculture, forestry, fruit growing, genetics and plant breeding, geography, horticulture, hydrobiology and limnology, immunology and toxicology, medical mycology, microbiology and microscopy, molecular biology, palaeontology, pharmacology and pharmacognosy, plant pathology and vegetable crops, etc. Each entry provided the title, subtitle, volume and date span, a standardized title abbreviation and notice of former and subsequent titles where relevant. Over 8,000 cross-references facilitated searches. BPH-2 was intended for the use of workers in all the fields mentioned above, together with librarians, bibliographers, database managers and publishers.

Gavin D. R. Bridson (Hunt Institute Bibliographer, 1982–2008) spent nine years compiling new periodical titles, incorporating entries from B-P-H/S (his 1991 supplement to B-P-H), and checking and correcting entries from the first edition. (This print edition has been updated and is now available as the database BPH Online.)
